Ingural Release of the new electronic Residential Fire Safety Institute OLS Newsflash

Since 1982, the OLS Newsletter has brought you current news on issues involving home fire safety in the form of a quarterly hard copy report. We now bring you an updated electronic version that will become the most comprehensive source of breaking news, action alerts and updates on current events related to residential fire sprinklers, carbon dioxide detection, smoke alarms, home fire safety education and other life safety information.

You will receive the new OLS News Brief on a regular basis, and more frequently as news breaks. We ask that you forward this page to your counterparts that share an interest in home fire safety concerns. We also ask that you send information to us that is worthy of re-broadcast to our extensive network.

In addition to a host of changes that are taking place at the Residential Fire Safety Institute, we are announcing our updated RFSI website at www.firesafehome.org. Debuting with this news release, the website is in the process of undergoing a significant revision, and remains a work in progress. Please take a look at the improvements so far and provide us with you comments, suggestions and additional content offerings.

Now, the first order of business, of critical importance, is to make sure that you know about the vital ICC hearing that is going to be happening on October 28 in Baltimore, MD. It is imperative that we see as many of you as possible at the hearing in order to combat a proposal to rescind the residential sprinkler requirement that was added to the International Residential Code last year. Please read the following news brief to learn more about how you can help.
